the 7" android's potential success

I like the author's viewpoint that these gadgets being bought more and more for specific use rather than tools for anytime, everywhere computing. Our laptops are too big to whip out over a drink in a bar, the smart phone is too small to share screens with, the iPad feels too delicate so it stays at home...

  1. i think we should focus on ONE device with expandable display instead of 20 in different sizes. how many more of this gadgets do we need to stare at ? or perhaps one small 4.5" display thingy and we all wear magnifying glasses. this 7" story is just another marketing gimmick to tell us all we need more of the same stuff.

  2. Think of it this way - storing books OK? Storage systems are varied for varied uses right? A book case with doors and glass windows is used for rare, expensive books and this is displayed, an IKEA stack for shelves is used for inexpensive books and kept in the hall way or study, plastic boxes to store books we no longer read but keep for sake of memory are often in the basement, a locker to store my diary which I don't want anyone to find might be in my bedroom. How can one storage thing (device) answer all my needs?
